Brand Identity, Web Design, WordPress

The Brief

A Completely New Brand

With an impressive number of growing programs that Skytop Startegies has been implementing, it was challenging to organize them and register attendees without an online presence. Additionally, it is rather difficult to have an online presence without an established, concrete brand. It became apparent that Skytop Strategies would need both fulfilled with a quick turnaround time.

Three Cohesive Goals

A New but Familiar Brand

Skytop Strategies wanted a logo mark that would be comprised of two qualities; an element that takes inspiration from New Paltz, NY and that would speak to their high-end clients and recognizability.

An Effortlessly Navigable Site

Those visiting the company’s website are already familiar with Skytop Strategies and what they do. The navigation to information regarding their programs was essential. Therefore, that content needed to be easily accessible on both desktop and mobile.

An Easy to Use Backend

Skytop Strategies needed an easy to use backend where new program information could easily be added. This is where WordPress came to the rescue, with custom page templates created so that the information could easily be inputed when a new program was created/added to the site.

The Identity

For their new logo, Skytop Strategies was asking for a modern and recognizable icon, with inspiration drawing from the New Paltz, NY area, while keeping New York City in mind.

Organizing Programs

Each program contains a wealth of information, ranging from featured speakers to the program’s calendar. Each section is organized within accordions so that one could be open at a time so as not to overwhelm the user with so much information at once. Additionally, once a user has completed reading the information, the option to register and purchase tickets is at the bottom of each page. Authorize.net is the payment gateway used.

Connecting with Forbes

Christopher P. Skroupa, Skytop Strategies’ CEO, regularly contributes articles to Forbes.com on an almost weekly basis. Naturally, it was important to have these blog posts somewhat prominent on the website but not competing with the main content. Additionally, good Search Engine Optimization practices have been implemented here as well as the rest of the website.
